A day after the conference, flew off to Sandakan for the Diocesan Young Adult Camp (yeah, November 2011 is a traveling month, barely spent a week inside the office...creating a lot of backlog >_<)...but it was kinda special and a blessing for me, as that's the first time on my birthday to fly somewhere and stay at a hotel (the date coincided with 2 other weddings of friends & colleagues as well).
Highlights of the camp:
- Food hunt. It was more like Amazing Race + Jalan jalan cari makan. Grouped into teams of ten, we drove ourselves around town stopping at popular eating outlets and ordering specific dishes which we then needed to take a group photo with. The restaurant and stall owners were bewildered at first when they had a few tables each with 10 people seated around but only ordering one dish with no drinks. Until they realized we were playing a game and they then sportingly accommodated us.
- Yumcha. This is probably the only camp that I've attended where participants go out for yumcha almost every night after the evening sessions. Particularly, on the last night where we occupied 3/4 of a new rooftop hangout.
- Iced grand mochachino. My Starbucks kaki brought me to a place equivalent to Starbucks at half the price...n_n

The historical St Michael's Church.
Just before the Sunday service started.
Local delicacy. Some call it 'UFO'. Others call it 'Cow dung tart'. Don't worry, it doesn't taste like the latter.
New friends from Lahad Datu.
A day after the camp, was the English Zone retreat at Kokol. It's supposed to be a time of refreshing and planning for next year...but I was honestly still exhausted from Sandakan and couldn't completely immerse myself in every activity up in the mountain...
And time flew past and it's now December with a few days till Christmas and the New Year... =P
