little army

Centenary...

It happens once a hundred years.
It had to happen on this one year.

Publishing a book is not easy. Working on it [seemingly] alone is an even more difficult task.

This whole chapter of the past few weeks and months reminds me of being back in college or the previous animation studio I worked at, where the midnight oil was burned by the gallons and I get to feel the night air gradually turn cold and even the cat gets spooked when I open the office door to go home at 3am.

But I'm also reminded of a chapter taught in Children Cell of Gideon and his little army. From my own perspective, I was frustrated to the max that there wasn't a big team working together to produce this publication. Perhaps, if I looked through God's perspective, I'll understand that there was a purpose why the original team dwindled down to only a few of us working behind the scenes. Just like Gideon, maybe it was so that we could not boast on having the best people with the best skills to accomplish such a great task.

“You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength... Judges 7:2

It's kinda hard to accept in the midst of rushing a deadline and stress tahap maksimum. Even after today, when all 3 books (same content, 3 languages) have finally been sent out to the printer, this lesson will be a reminder to me that it was God who enabled us* to not give up and achieve the goal.

“With these 300* men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites... Judges 7:7
