Before and After Bali

[Before]

It was a mad rush as I only had 3 weeks to finish my given workload, otherwise my leave wouldn't have been approved and I'd have to give Bali a miss. OT-ed night after night including weekends and I had to sacrifice Thursday nights with my sharegroup. I know these group of brothers and sisters must have been concerned because I'd never skipped sharegroup before even when I had heavy workloads back then. Thank you for your prayers~~

Really give thanks to God for His strength and blessings!!! I managed to finish all my scenes and retakes plus I had a couple of hours to help out one easy scene before I left the office after lunch time. I was already missing everyone, especially the AKOM team even before I was on my way back to Ipoh.

I was happy to see my mum again, as she only returns to Malaysia once or twice a year from her work over the seas somewhere near the deserts and oasis. Was glad to see my cousin Lace, who was rushing her assignments and had promised to be my dance partner. Was really happy to see my cousin Jeremy getting married to Jamie. It's not often we get weddings in my family (you can imagine my dear grandma asking all my single cousins, uncles and aunties "When's your turn ah? Got boyfriend/girlfriend already or not?"). I probably attend more weddings of my church friends than of my close relatives. Which reminds me, I have 2 to attend next month.

I'd never dream of seeing my family and relatives boogie on the dance floor. But we did. Only when the DJ switched from slow romantic songs to more nostalgic disco songs. Our favourite was "YMCA". Yes, the young and the old were all swaying their hips and doing the all-famous alphabet actions. It's a night to remember.

[After]

The flight from Bali was around 8pm and we arrived at LCCT around 11pm. By the time we reached Damansara, it was very close to midnight. I dumped my bagpack at the foot of my bed, took a bath and went to bed. I had to work the next day. It was D-Day.

In the morning at the pantry, I started cutting the kek lapis I'd brought from Bali (it was all gone before lunchtime) and with some help from Daryl and Andrew searching for a container, poured out the Balinese coffee (apparently the it's still 3/4 full, odd because we were usually frequent consumers of caffeine).

I wasn't too excited to find out we still had a number of scenes left on D-Day. Through my rough estimations, I knew that we couldn't finish it that day, but it was definitely possible to finish it by Sunday, if everyone gave it their best effort. I was definitely not excited to find out that the company movie outing was in jeopardy because of our failure to meet the deadline. But thank God, that Friday was a public holiday for the clients. So, our deadline was extended to Sunday.

It was a hectic weekend, with some of us really pushing ourselves on Sunday by staying till the wee hours of Monday morning. We KO-ed around 4am and some of us started leaving around 5am to go home and take a shower and maybe catch an hour's sleep. There were only left about less than a dozen scenes before lunchtime and there was hope we could all go watch Wall.e at night. At 6pm, there were still a couple of scenes still in progress. But our leader was lenient to let those scenes be done by lunch time the next day, our boss was not happy with that (understandbly really, we'd promised to finish on Sunday). However, we all went to watch the movie. Although, I have to admit I was half-dazed and blur that night, what with only 2 hours of sleep in the morning.

All that's left now are the retakes.
